About Us
JMA Marketing represents a number of manufacturers in both the
hospitality and contract furnishings industries. Incorporated in
2004 as John Manson & Associates, we proudly serve Illinois,
Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana.
We've had the pleasure of
working with some of Chicago's and the nation's finest
restaurants and hotels who have selected dinnerware, flatware,
furniture and accessories from offerings on display in our 2500
sq. foot Wicker Park showroom.
John Manson
Principal, Head of Sales
John is a lifelong, 4th generation Chicagoan who has been in
the Foodservice and Hospitality Sales industry since 1986.
After graduating from the University Of Illinois Chicago
with a marketing degree, John worked as a sales
representative with the largest restaurant supply and
equipment distributor in the country for 8 years, followed
by 2 years as an Equipment and Supply Specialist for the
largest foodservice distributor in the U.S. In 1996 he
joined a Manufacturers' Representative firm, becoming their
VP of Sales and later a partner. He established his own
firm, John Manson & Associates (JMA Marketing), in 2004 and
opened his showroom in a renovated industrial building the
following December in Chicago's bustling Wicker Park
neighborhood.
John is the proud father of two grown
daughters, and now resides in the near north suburbs with
his wife Liz. He enjoys spending his weekend time with food
& wine, gardening, and restoring his vintage home.
Cara Anderson
Design/Sales Specialist
Cara has been in Chicago for 12 years, during which she has gained experience on both the
design and sales side of the industry. With a B.A. in Merchandising & Marketing, she has
further developed her inherent skillset of design and business acumen by styling properties and merchandising showrooms
throughout the city. She grew a passion for the hospitality sector while working at a design studio which also
represented custom furniture, lighting, and textiles lines. Cara loves being able to help bring design ideas
to life and is thrilled to be part of the JMA team.
In her spare time, Cara stays current with the newest
restaurant and bar design trends – from small, boutique spots to large, multi-functional venues.
When she isn’t scouting the latest happenings in Chicago, you can find her out running on the lakefront.
Natalie Marshall
Office & Showroom Manager
Natalie made the move to Chicago from Michigan in the fall
of 2010 to attend the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago
where she graduated with a B.A. in Fashion Marketing and
Management. During her education she interned aside the
Creative Director of a popular menswear boutique in Chicago,
building and creating visual content for their ecommerce
site. She attributes this experience for her critical eye
and attention to detail. Natalie grew a great passion for
the restaurant and hospitality industry through her 4 years
with Lettuce Entertain You and has expanded her knowledge
wonderfully since joining the JMA team in 2015.
Natalie enjoys spending most of her time in the
kitchen—preferably with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a
kitchen table full of friends! She currently resides in
Chicago's North Center neighborhood with her husband and
their dog, Holiday.
Lisa Christensen
Assistant Showroom Manager
Lisa is a native Chicagoan who has been with the JMA team
part-time for a total of 2 years. After studying Studio Arts
with a concentration in printmaking, she developed an
eclectic background producing lithographic materials before
becoming a commercial screen printer for 4 years. Lisa has
been around the hospitality sales industry all her life
through her father John, and having worked at one of her
favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Berwyn, IL. She's
excited to move forward with JMA, where she can utilize her
creative eye and work with great products in an exciting
industry.
In her free time Lisa performs with her band, deejays
her vinyl collection, and accumulates & sells mid-century
modern vintage. She currently lives in Chicago's sunny
Pilsen neighborhood with her husband and their giant cat,
Lennon.
